Little compares to the feeling of enjoying an excellent glass of wine. Great for all occasions, the right bottle of wine can go a long way. If you consider yourself a bit of a wine connoisseur or are simply looking to learn more about wine, then the 5th annual Barbera Festival is for you. Get ready for a relaxing event with friends or family as you spend the day trying out different wines and taking in the beautiful surroundings of the Northern California vineyards and rolling hills. The Barbera Festival will take place on Wednesday, June 13th from 11am – 4pm. Tickets are on sale now.

The Barbera Festival is an outdoor wine and food festival that will specifically be focusing on Barbera wines. Barbera wines herald from Northern Italy and are created from black grapes. Barberas tend to be more rustic than other wines and are fruity and tart. They also often have traces of plum and cherry flavors. At this event, you will be able to taste a variety of wines from over 80 wineries throughout California such as Napa, the Sierra Foothills, Sonoma, Paso Robles, Mendocino, the Santa Cruz Mountains, Lake County, Ventura County, and the Bay Area. The event will also be catered by some of the top restaurants in Amador County and they will be providing food that pairs well with Barbera wine. White wines and beer will also be available for purchase to offer a little variety.

This year, the event will take place at Terra d’Oro/Montevina Winery in Plymouth, California. If you purchase your tickets prior to June 11th, you will receive a special early bird discount with tickets being sold for $50. If you are a designated driver for the event, tickets will be sold for $30. Your ticket will include admittance to the festival, wine tasting, and a commemorative wine glass. Food will be available for purchase at the event, and is not part of the admission price. Free parking will be available on-site and the event will take place regardless of weather conditions. Tickets can be purchased online at eventbrite.com. For more information, visit the official website at barberafestival.com. If you’d like to get a full NorCal experience, stay for a while in one of the hotels in Northern California close to vineyards, like the Jackson Lodge.
