With December right around the corner, it means that the Holiday season is quickly approaching. This year, join Sutter Creek for holiday events that will help you get into the festive spirit! On December 6, join the community for the Las Posadas Candlelight Walk and on December 13, enjoy the Sutter Creek Parade of Lights. For those that already know where to stay near Sutter Creek, the city looks forward to seeing you there!

The Historic Center in Sutter Creek brings to life a festive and historical Christmas tradition to be enjoyed by the whole community. Walk with Joseph and Mary as she travels on her donkey, the two of them walking the streets of Bethlehem looking for shelter. This candlelight procession begins at Immaculate Conception Church and continues down Spanish Street to Main Street, where the procession will end at Historic Methodist Church. Here, a stable with a manger will greet them; this will show that they have finally reached their destination. During the procession, listen to the narration of this ancient and beautiful story and even listen to some beautiful Christmas carols. Afterward, join the community in the Church for hot beverages and cookies in the social gathering hall. There will also be a FREE Christmas musical program, which will feature local singing groups and musicians. If you would like to join, be at the Immaculate Conception Church by 6pm to receive a candle and song booklet. Be sure to dress warmly and wear comfortable walking shoes.

The Sutter Creek Parade of Lights is when the whole town comes alive with lights. The buildings are decked in Holiday decorations and bubbles even float through the air, giving off the feelings of snowflakes. The parade consists of everything from schools buses, dogs, cars, people, mail trucks, horses, baton twirlers, marching bands and more! The parade will begin at 6:30pm and will go down Main Street. Parking is available Downtown except for on Main Street.
