Lake Camanche

When you head to the Sierra Nevada foothills in California you’ll be greeted by a number of fun outdoor activities such as the sutter creek gold mine and the exciting, Lake Camanche Reservoir. Lake Camanche is a great place for guests to camp out or enjoy the waters. Read on to learn more all about what Lake Camanche can offer!

One popular option is paddling or boating along the lake. If you are a beginner paddler, a great place to practice is at the South South and to paddle up through Narrows to the China Gulch where you’ll eventually reach the Lancha Plana coves. These are two of the prettiest areas on the lake and the calm waters provide a great place to practice your kayak techniques. Along the way, you will be able to take in the incredible wildlife. Keep your eye out for sights of wild turkey, eagles, doves, geese, white pelicans, hawks, as well as geese and ducks along the water. There are sometimes even sightings of deer.
