Skiing at Kirkwood Mountain in Kirkwood, California!

Dec 24, 2014

Are you looking for something a little more adventurous this winter season? Do you love to ski? Do you want to improve your technique? Are you looking for the best skiing in North America? If so, come down to Kirkwood Mountain where you will find something for all levels of skiing. In addition, Kirkwood has some of the driest and deepest snow in North America. At this mountain, guests are encouraged to challenge themselves, go on adventures, and have fun!

There are two terrain parks at Kirkwood. The first is the Bandit Park – this is a great place for those who would like to hone their skills. At Bandit Park you will find beginner level jumps, rails, and boxes. At the Outlaw Park, try to step up your game as you bring your skills to the intermediate level park. Here you will also find an assortment of intermediate jumps, medium boxes and rails.

If you are looking for something more intense, consider going on one of the Expedition Discovery Series. These sessions are designed for intermediate and expert skiers to take their skills to the next level. At the Discover the Steeps session, you will be trained in how to successfully ride the steeps of Kirkwood Mountain from top to bottom. At the Explore Cornices & Bowls session, take part in exploring a geographical phenomenon that is found at Kirkwood Mountain – natural bowls in the side of the mountain. During this session, work on skills that will allow you to maneuver these unique bowls. Finally, if you would like to learn how to better navigate through some of the most difficult terrain in skiing, the Navigating Chutes session is just for you. Spaces in these sessions tend to fill up rather quickly so be sure to call in advance to reserve your spot.
